Strengthening Cultural Relationships: Dalada Asiriya for 100 Youth in the North

The 30 years of brutal war ended answering daily prayers of all Sri Lankans, under the leadership of His Excellency Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Shortly after the war ended, reconciliation of trust and harmony among all ethnicities is indeed a high priority. Tharunyata Hetak enabled an awareness programme of the national heritage to 100 children from the Vauniya Camp. heir visit was extended as we took them to the Dalada Maligawa, Dalada Perahera, Mahanuwara Ganadevi Kovila and Perdeniya Botanical Gardens. The Girl Guides of Kandy District too held a special show for the children. To enhance the experience of the program, Tharunyata Hetak took the children to the Lucky Land Biscuit Factory and the Matale Aluviharey Temple.

The children were then taken to watch a cricket match played between Sri Lanka and India where they met the players in person. In completion of the 3 days program the children were safely taken back to Vauniya.

Tharunyata Hetak sends out the warmest gratitude to everyone who enabled this programme to take place. The event was jointly organized by Tharunayata Hetak and Central Province Governor’s office.
